Murwillumbah sits on the Tweed River on NSW Far North Coast 850 km north of Sydney and only 13 km south of Qld border. Tourism began in 1960s but since being bypassed by the Pacific Hwy (Sydney-Brisbane) the town  has become quieter, yet still remains very appealing. Banana & Harvest Festival (Aug).
